Local Authority
Delivery Scheme

What is the LAD Scheme?

The LAD scheme is designed to upgrade the energy efficiency of low-income and low EPC rated households, including off-gas grid homes.
LAD aims to help reduce fuel poverty, accelerate the phasing out of high carbon fossil fuel heating and support the UK’s commitment to net zero.

Who qualifies for the LAD scheme?

LAD is available to the following low-income households:

• Homes with a combined income of less than £30,000

• Currently rated as EPC E, F or G

100% subsidy for owner-occupiers (up to £10,000)*

Eligible homeowners could get up to £10,000 of fully-funded home improvements, depending on the local authority scheme and the energy efficiency measures needed.

*This is capped at 50% (£5,000) for eligible homeowners with an EPC rating of D.

Two-thirds subsidy for social and private landlords (up £5,000)

Landlords can get up to £7,500 worth of measures installed for a maximum contribution of £2,500. Landlords may also agree to additional works with the scheme manager, at their own expense.
